Optimization results in SAS Regular Price Optimization might be incorrect when the plan contains competitive price rules. This issue occurs because competitor prices that have reached their end date are incorrectly considered during optimization.
The competitor prices that have reached their end date are still valid because the system ignores the COMP_PRICE_FACT.END_DT field. Instead, the system uses the COMP_PRICE_VALIDITY_RULE.NUM_DAYS_VALID field to determine when a competitor price is no longer valid.
The workaround for this issue is to use the COMP_PRICE_VALIDITY_RULE.NUM_DAYS_VALID field to determine when competitor prices are no longer valid instead of the COMP_PRICE_FACT.END_DT field.
